We had a throughly enjoyable experience on the Dromard Camino. We were delighted with the walk, the facilities, the hospitality, especially in Creegans, and the great community effort and involvement. Looking forward to 2023!
A fantastically well organised event, helped by the beautiful day we got for it. From the startline at the club house to our return, the stewards were all very supportive and helpful withnavigation, as were the very helpful arrows on teh road. It was lovely to see the signs paintedalong the way and the flags out to greet the walkers. The was a real community feel around atteh rest stops where tea and coffee never went amiss. Would highly recommend it to friendsand will definitely return.
It was a fantastic day, really well organised. There were some very challenging aspects of the walk but there was lots of support and people to cheer us on. I’ll definitely be back next year.
Lovely scenic route not overly challenging . refreshments and toilet facilities along route and plenty of support and marshalling all the way . Good atmosphere and had the added bonus of nice weather . looking forward to next years.
Dromard Camino 2022 was an excellently run event from start to finish. The support on the route from members of the public and marshal’s was amazing and really kept me motivated.Massive thank you to everyone involved and see you next year!!
The Dromard Camino walk was a fantastic community event. From the moment we arrived, throughout the walk and arriving back at the clubhouse the welcome we received was wholehearted and genuine. The walk itself was thoroughly enjoyable with stunning views and there was great camaraderie and craic along the way. The refreshments along the way were plentiful and frequent and the meal, when we arrived back at the clubhouse, was delicious. We are looking forward to the 2023 Dromard Camino.
I’ve never done a Camino before & this was such a fabulous experience I would definitely consider another one. It was challenging with all the hills but the route showcased the best of Longford. It was beautiful. The people & stewards along the way created such a welcoming &positive atmosphere. The posters by the local children added to the sense of community. Overall, the Dromard Camino was a very positive, well organised event. We’ll done all.
Camino is Spanish word for Way . Dromard Camino showed me the way a community should function . Kindness, friendship ,and hospitality was in abundance. I felt energised and will definitely promote it going forward . Well done to organisers .
Came from Dublin to take part in Dromard Camino 2022. Great way to see Longford and meet the local people who fed, watered and encouraged us all along the route. Camino was very wellorganised with toilets, feeding stations and hot meal afterwards. Will add this as a great Camino to our list of National and International Camino’s. Thank you Cath, Toni, from Dublin.”
An amazing event and so well organised! It was my first time in the area and so well worth the 2 hours it took me to drive there! I definitely felt welcome and got chatting to so many great people along my 35km route and I absolutely am looking forward to coming back next year! (And perhaps I’ll take the day off next time so I won’t be rushing back to milk the cows!)
It was very well organised with stop point and refreshments and food excellent at community centre after walk. I did the 20km. Next year if goes ahead i will do the 35km. It was very scenic and beautiful the walk. I work within the disability sector and brought a resident with me on the day and he also enjoyed the whole experience. Walk done to every one whom organised this great Camino !
A really enjoyable walk through the rolling countryside of Longford and meeting some new like-minded walkers. Great organisation with plenty of friendly Marshall’s along the route.
